UC San Diego mistakenly congratulated 29,000 hopeful students admission yesterday as the school sent the letter using the wrong distribution list.
The school's communications office said an e-mail was sent Monday afternoon to all 46,377 students who applied for admission -- including the 29,000 rejects -- welcoming them to the campus.
A few hours later a second email went out apologizing to the students that were mistakenly emailed the letter.
Man, if I was one of those students I would have been really pissed. I would show up the first day of school and demand to get in some classes. If a retail store sends you a coupon by mistake - they have to honor it. Why is this any different?
