When the Beastie Boys had to back out of their scheduled appearance at the Austin City Limits Music Festival Friday, October 2, the rumors and hopefuls for who would replace the Beastie's ran rampant.Now, according to aclmusic.com, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are the band slated to fill in. Raphael Saadiq and Ben Sollee have also been added to the sold-out festival that is scheduled to take place Oct. 2-4.
I know many people like the Yeah Yeah Yeah's but for them to replace the Beastie Boys in what is a co-headliner spot to Kings of Leon doesn't quite fit. It was rumored that YYY would be the replacement as soon as news broke of the Beastie's cancellation, but I was hoping for a little bit stronger of an act for that time slot. However, it doesn't affect me too much as I will be over watching Kings of Leon anyway.
