Vols Brown Not In Trouble Anymore

University of Tennessee heralded freshman running back Bryce Brown has been cleared by the NCAA of any wrongdoing and will not serve any suspension or be required to pay any restitution for money raised for Brown to attend college campuses while in high school.

The Vols appealed the initial NCAA ruling on the case which had fallen under the NCAA's 30 percent rule, which would have required Brown to miss the first four games and repay most of or all the money that was spent while attending the college campuses. However, after further investigation, the NCAA cleared Brown from any wrongdoing and he will be allowed to continue on without any penalty.

So basically Brown didn't know anything about where the money came from or how he was visiting these colleges. I guess when you are a great high school running back, you think you get to go places for free and don't spend any of your own money. People flock to you and give you free things, it's all the perk of being the number one rated high school prospect.

It's good news that Brown escaped this investigation without any penalty at all, especially since the running game will be heavily counted on this season - especially in the early going. With three receivers injured, the Vols will be forced to pound the ball and having Brown in the lineup is a definite plus.
