What's In Theaters August 28?

This is a great week for movies. Highlighted by Taking Woodstock and the newest addition to the always humorous Final Destination series, this is a good week to head to the movies.

Taking Woodstock

A man working at his parents' motel in the Catskills inadvertently sets in motion the generation-defining concert in the summer of 1969. This movie is obviously going to interest me and this is my pick for the week. If you like music and the history of music and festivals - this is a must see movie.

Big Fan

Paul Aufiero, a hardcore New York Giants football fan, struggles to deal with the consequences when he is beaten up by his favorite player. Starring Patton Oswalt and Michael Rapaport, this movie should be pretty funny. This will be a movie that I will end up seeing and probably enjoy a lot.

H2: Halloween 2

Laurie Strode struggles to come to terms with her brother Michael's deadly return to Haddonfield, Illinois; meanwhile, Michael prepares for another reunion with his sister. This movie picks up at the exact moment the first movie stopped and follows the aftermath of Michael's murderous rampage through the eyes of Laurie. I am convinced that these Halloween movies will never end. Frankly, I don't even think they are good. I don't have any interest in seeing it, but people will flock to theaters to watch it because they always do.

The Final Destination

You all know the story by now, after a teen's premonition of a deadly race-car crash helps saves the lives of his peers, death sets out to collect those who evaded their end. These movies are all the same and they are all extremely hilarious, so expect the fourth installment to this series to be about the same. The most outrageous things kill people, making it a comedy-horror pretty much. I'll end up seeing it, just not for a while.

The Open Road

In what could be an under the radar good movie of the week, The Open Road centers on the adult son of a baseball legend who, together with his girlfriend, embarks on a road trip with his estranged father. Justin Timberlake and Jeff Bridges star to make this one of the more intriguing movie releases this week.
