With BCS Championship hopes dead, the Virginia Tech Hokies hope to take out some frustration on an under-achieving North Carolina team tonight in Blacksburg, Va.
After losing 28-23 last week to Georgia Tech, the 14th ranked Hokies (5-2, 3-1) look to bounce back against another ACC foe in the Tar Heels. North Carolina started the season ranked No. 21, however they find themselves unranked at 4-3 overall and 0-3 in the conference at this point.
Virginia Tech finds themselves as a 17 point favorite. With Tyrod Taylor and freshman running back Ryan Williams, it's easy to understand why. Williams has emerged as one of them most productive backs in the country, gaining 834 yards on 140 carries and 10 touchdowns. Taylor's mobility at the quarterback position always poses a threat for opposing defenses.
As we have seen on countless Thursdays, an upset is always lurking, but look for Virginia Tech to pound North Carolina and keep the Tar Heels winless in this one.
