Richardson and Edwards Dismissed From Vols

University of Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin announced today that Nu'Keese Richardson and Mike Edwards have been kicked off the Vols football team. Information is still being gathered regarding Janzen Jackson and his future remains in limbo. In the meantime, Jackson will not be allowed to participate in any Vols activities.

According to Knoxnews.com, Kiffin released this statement:

“After extensive and thorough research of the situation over the last four days and considering various disciplinary options, I’ve decided it’s in the best interest of our program to remove Nu’Keese and Mike,” Kiffin said. “As I’ve said many times before, we hold our student-athletes to an extremely high standard on and off the field. Our student-athletes must be responsible members of society, and this type of conduct will not be tolerated.
“We want a positive culture for our student-athletes that allows them to succeed in the classroom, on the field, and in life after college. My hope is that these two young men will learn from their terrible decision. Clearly, their actions have no place in our program.”

Everybody knew that Richardson and Edwards didn't stand much of a chance at being invited to rejoin the Vols and today, everybody's suspicions were made official. As for Jackson, not much has been made known about his future. It is a good bet that he will at least be suspended for the remainder of the regular season, which is only two more games - but then again, we really don't know and anything released now is strictly speculation.
