Vols Lose Three Prospects

Three University of Tennessee commitments are no longer heading to Knoxville next year as weight issues and grades stood in the way of playing for the "Big Orange".

Offensive lineman Jose Jose from Miami (Fla.) Central High School has switched his commitment from UT to South Florida. At 6-foot-1, the guard is listed at 330 pounds, but it is believed that he was playing closer to 365 this season. With the weight issues, it isn’t hard to understand why several schools were cautious about Jose and I’m sure Vols coach Lane Kiffin didn’t hide the fact he was concerned about his weight issues.

The Vols also lost two defensive tackle commitments in Risean Broussard (La.) and Pat Harris (Juco, Calif.). Both have had academic concerns and many have wondered if they would even get into UT. Based on this, it appears obvious that the speculation regarding their academic standing was correct. Still, this should not be a big shock to Vols fans.
