Is Kiffin Panicking About Finding a QB?

University of Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin may be a little panicky about finding his next quarterback. With senior Jonathon Crompton not an option for the 2010 season and relatively no depth behind him, the first year coach is in a must-sign situation.

After having missed out on Jake Heaps (BYU) and Andrew Hendrix (Notre Dame), the Vols are banking on signing Jesse Scroggins out of Lakewood, CA. Scroggins has visited the Vols and liked what he saw, but he has also visited Florida and Southern California and liked those two schools as well. If Scroggins elects one of the latter two schools, Kiffin and the Vols may be in tough spot. Barry Brunetti out of Memphis has reportedly been offered a scholarship from UT. He was a standout at the UT camp and has expressed desire to play for the Vols, but he is a dual threat quarterback and Kiffin would prefer a pro-style QB.

The lack of signing a big time quarterback prospect will not only put the Vols in a tough position behind center, but it will also negatively impact their ability to sign other top offensive weapons - mainly receivers.

When Kiffin let 2009 commitment Tajh Boyd walk upon taking the job, everybody thought Kiffin had something up his sleeve and was going to sign another top quarterback prospect. As time passes and the Vols continue to be without a QB commitment, it is looking like Kiffin should have probably kept Boyd around.

Texas Linebacker Kindle Was Not Drunk When He Crashed Car Into Building

Texas linebacker Sergio Kindle crashed his car into an apartment complex last week. Kindle reportedly suffered a concussion from the wreck that occurred at 2:50 a.m. last Wednesday.

According to witnesses, Kindle and several passengers got out of the car and pushed it out of the residence and down the road before abandoning it, police said.

The best quote from this story came from Kindle's lawyer Brian Roark:

"He knew he was hurt at the time and that he needed to go home and go to bed," Brian Roark, Kindle's lawyer, told the Austin American-Statesman.

Roark said Kindle contacted the apartment's management Thursday when he woke up, according to the report. Police said the accident was under investigation and no charges had been filed.

It makes perfect sense to leave the scene of the accident because you need to go to bed. The guy was obviously not drunk and just tired when he wrecked into the apartment complex. That's obviously why the building just jumped out in front of him.

Mets Beltran Is Done

New York Mets outfielder Carlos Beltran has been battling a sore right knee all season. The standout centerfielder is scheduled to get a second opinion on the knee from Dr. Richard Steadman, a well-know orthopedic surgeon and microfracture specialist.

We all know what microfracture means - very terrible and the chance of recovering fully and returning to the same form is very unlikely. So if Beltran does need that surgery, his career could be in jeopardy.

Beltran has already had arthroscopic surgery to both knees, so the history of knee troubles is there. This however, appears to be much more serious than the previously mentioned surgeries that took place after the 2007 season.

Yao Ming's Career Could Be In Jeopardy

Houston Rockets 7-foot-5 Yao Ming's career may be in jeopardy as his broken foot is not healing properly.

The freakishly tall center has a history of foot trouble, but this injury appears to be the worst. He is expected to miss the upcoming 2009-2010 season and it is unknown when he will be able to return to the court - if ever.

This is a big blow for the Rockets, who have seen the Chinese sensation's career blossom over the past few seasons. He has shed his image for being a tentative player and has become a much more dominant inside player for Houston.

Yao entered the league in 2002 and has played his entire NBA career with Houston. After staying relatively healthy his first three seasons, Yao has been injured every year since 2005. He has averaged 19.1 points and 9.3 rebounds per game for his career.

Kendra and Hank Got Married

Former Girls Next Door star Kendra Wilkinson and Philadelphia Eagles receiver Hank Baskett got married over the weekend at the Playboy mansion.

The ceremony looked like it was nice. I'm still a little bitter that I wasn't invited, but to get even, they won't be invited to my wedding later this year.

Ricky Rubio is Way Too Good To Play For The Timberwolves

When the Minnesota Timberwolves drafted 18-year-old guard Ricky Rubio from Spain with the fifth overall selection in last night's NBA draft, he was expected to be a big time contributor to the rebuilding of the Timberwolves.

Apparently that won't be the case because Rubio does not want to play for Minnesota. This sounds a lot like when Eli Manning got drafted by the San Diego Chargers and refused to play for them. The result was that Manning was traded to the Giants for Phillip Rivers, who the Giants selected a few picks later.

Rubio is still under contract with his Spanish team and has a $6.6 million buyout. The Wolves drafted Johnny Flynn, another guard, with the sixth overall pick and then guard Wayne Ellington with the 28th overall pick. Those two give them an option at the point guard position if the Rubio pick doesn't work out.
It seems like the Rubio pick was a waste, but then again they may be able to get good value for him in a trade. Then again, they could end up with Phillip Rivers instead of Eli Manning.

R.I.P. Michael Jackson: Dead at 50

Pop legend Michael Jackson was pronounced dead today at 50 years old. When paramedics arrived at Jackson's Bel Air home, they found him in a coma and transported him to UCLA Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of his cardiac arrest is unknown at the current time.

Whether you liked Michael or hated Michael, the guy is a legend and I don't think anybody will deny that. His music will live on forever and his title as "The King of Pop" will always be his.

Megan Fox Is Really Hot

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen dominated the box office on its Wednesday debut as the movie brought in the second highest gross income ever with $60.6 million. The highest grossing first day ever goes to the latest Batman movie: The Dark Knight with $67.2 million, which was downright awesome.

Basically, this is mostly due to Megan Fox and her hotness. Fox and robots are usually a pretty good combo as we saw in the first Transformers. Shia LaBeouf also stars in the movie, but it is doubtful that he has anything to do with the impressive numbers this movie is putting up.

The Jon and Kate Crap Is Getting Old

So as everybody in the world probably knows by now that the stars of the reality show Jon and Kate Plus 8 are getting divorced. If you don't know then you are obviously Amish.

Let me apparently be the first to say, 'who the hell gives a shit'. I obviously don't, and why would I?

First of all their show is about the two of them and their eight kids. That isn't even an entertaining concept. Why the hell would anybody be entertained by watching two ugly people and their eight bratty kids?

Second of all, the show only became popular after Jon was seen with another woman. So basically, the show's popularity only came as a result of the media's obsession with this couple. So for the love of God, get these two people off the cover's of magazines so we can get the worthy cover girls back on there like Megan Fox, Jessica Alba and Mila Kunis.

Shaq and Lebron Unite

Shaquille O'Neal is set to join the Cleveland Cavaliers after they and the Phoenix Suns agreed to exchange the center for Ben Wallace, Sasha Pavlovic, the 46th overall pick in tonight's NBA draft and $500,000.

Shaq and Lebron together? Holy shit! We all know that Shaq is old, but the guy is still a force down low. This greatly helps the Cavs because it gives them another option down low. If Shaq can stay healthy look for Cleveland to make a run at next season's NBA championship. Hell, Lebron nearly got the Cavs one this season by himself, now that he has another All-Star on his team, watch out.

Jim James Thinks George Harrison Is Awesome

My Morning Jacket frontman Jim James is releasing a tribute to the Beatles George Harrison. The EP will include six tracks and will be released August 4.

The tracks are:
1. Long, Long, Long
2. Behind That Locked Door
3. Love You To
4. My Sweet Lord
5. Ballad of Sir Frankie Crisp (Let It Roll)
6. All Things Must Pass

This should be pretty cool to check out. Harrison and Lennon were my two favorite Beatles far ahead of the others. James is a pretty cool dude himself, so I'm sure that he will do a good job with this.

Somebody Stole Vontae Davis' Identity!

Reports yesterday claimed that Miami Dolphins rookie cornerback, Vontae Davis, was arrested earlier this month in Illinois for unnecessary vehicular noise and having an invalid license.

Reports today state that Davis was actually in Florida that day at the Dolphins OTA's. Davis also said that his wallet was stolen when he was attending the University of Illinois before he was drafted by the Dolphins.

So Davis isn't actually a moron and Knox Animal apologizes to Davis. However, the person that stole his wallet and the officer that didn't recognize that it wasn't Davis are the real morons in this situation.

Wizards Hate Draft Picks

The Washington Wizards have traded their first round pick, No. 5 overall, to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Randy Foye and Mike Miller.

The Wizards also sent Oleksiy Pecherov, Etan Thomas and Darius Songaila to Minnesota as part of the package.

This appears to be a very good deal for both sides. The Wizards obviously felt that Foye was better than anything they could get at the No. 5 spot in this year's draft. Miller adds solid depth at the small forward position and could be a good spot starter for Washington. The Timberwolves meanwhile, have six draft picks now, including four in the first round.

The best thing about this for the Wizards is that they now don't have to deal with the stress of having a top 5 draft pick. Remember when the Wizards had the No. 1 pick in 2001 and chose Kwame Brown.

Vontae Davis is a Moron

The Miami Dolphins top draft pick, Vontae Davis, was arrested June 9 in Illinois for unnecessary vehicular noise and driving without a valid license, according to a Champaign Police Department report.

It's not a good start for the 25th overall pick from the University of Illinois in this past April's NFL draft.

Only a moron would bring attention to himself if he didn't have a valid driver's license. So I guess that makes Davis a moron.

Vols Williams Out For Season

University of Tennessee freshman running back Toney Williams will miss the season after tearing his ACL in summer workouts last week.

Williams has impressed coaches, but with fellow freshman David Oku, and the nation's No. 1 ranked player according to Rivals, Bryce Brown arriving on campus, it was unknown how much playing time Williams would receive.

Williams may have been redshirted anyways, but this makes the decision a lot easier for coaches.

Ryan Howard Does NOT have Swine Flu

Philadelphia Phillies stud first baseman Ryan Howard was released from the hospital today after being treated for flu-like symptoms.

Well, it looks like he is free from swine flu and bird flu. It had been the second time he was hospitalized in two nights for the illness.

Howard was hospitalized after Friday's game and was supposed to sit out Saturday, but instead hit a pinch-hit homer. After the game he was hospitalized again.

Good news is that he was released from the hospital again and you would think that if he really was seriously sick, the doctors would be smart enough to not release him. Howard, how about taking it easy, because if you go to the hospital a third time in less than a week, you probably are a wimp.

Berry and Hardesty To Tag Along at SEC Media Day

Joining University of Tennessee head coach Lane Kiffin at the SEC media days on August 9 will be junior safety Eric Berry and senior running back Montario Hardesty.

Berry, a preseason All-American and Heisman candidate is truely to team's number one leader. The entire team looks up to him and he has represented UT as well as anybody ever has.

Hardesty has emerged as a leader for the Vols and will prove to be an important factor in the mentoring of highly recruited freshman Bryce Brown and David Oku. I expect Hardesty to teach those two a lot and if he can manage to stay healthy, he could have a monster year in Kiffin's system.

Pearl Is a NBA Draft Analyst Now

University of Tennessee men's basketball coach Bruce Pearl will serve as a draft analyst for the upcoming NBA Draft on June 25.

In addition, Pearl will provide blogs on NBA.com entitled "Pearl's Gems" with his insight on the NBA Draft and prospects.

This is another reason why Pearl is a great marketer for UT. With Pearl and Kiffin as coaches, UT is everywhere and this is the kind of publicity that lands elite players. Well done Bruce, you are a very smart man.

Ochocinco Likes Bengals Chances in 2009

Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco aka Chad Johnson is predicting big things for the Bengals in 2009.

Ochocinco has been rumored to be traded for the past two seasons, says that he is finally happy and ready for the 2009 season.

"It's going to be a great year; we're going to the playoffs," Ochocinco guaranteed during Thursday's opening of mandatory minicamp. "We're going ... We're making progress. I mean, I see it, and I can come out on a limb and say what we're going to do."
This is a good sign for Bengals fans because now there is at least one person in the world that thinks the Bengals can make the playoffs.

UT Finds Strength in Ausmus

The University of Tennessee has found its new strength and conditioning coach. It wasn't a surprise that Aaron Ausmus would be tagged as the new guy because of his ties to UT and the current staff.

Ausmus, a former assistant strength coach and track and field All-American at Tennessee, has spent the last year at North Texas. He was also the head strength coach at Ole Miss when UT assistant head coach Ed Orgeron coached there. Ausmus also spent time at Southern California when Orgeron and UT head coach Lane Kiffin were there.

He looks like a strong dude, so it looks like a good hire for Kiffin and company. Ausmus will replace Mark Smith, who didn't make it 1 year as the strength and conditioning coach under Kiffin.

Heyward-Bey Injures Hamstring... Again.

Oakland Raiders rookie receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey re-injured his right hamstring during Wednesday's practice.

Oakland shocked many by choosing Heyward-Bey over Michael Crabtree with the 7th overall selection in this year's draft. The Raiders obviously liked Heyward-Bey's blazing speed, but he isn't very fast if he can't keep his legs healthy. Have these guys ever heard of stretching? How does anybody that plays professional sports ever pull a muscle? They have trainers stretching them out every day.

This is not a good sign for the rookie if he has already been injured twice already before the season has even started. Darrius you aren't shit without your wheels bro, take care of them.

Matt Wieters Hits First Homerun

Matt Wieters, the Baltimore Orioles phenom catcher, hit his first major league homerun Wednesday night to help the Orioles beat the New York Mets 6-4.

Wieters who is batting .240 in his first 50 major league at-bats hit the opposite-field, two-run blast to left field to put the Orioles up 3-1 in the second inning. Those were Wieters first two RBI as well as the catcher went 13 games without driving in a run.

This gives Orioles fans something positive to talk about because the O's absolutely suck. Year in and year out the Orioles are near the bottom of the AL East and it is downright pathetic. Maybe Wieters can get this ship turned around, but then again this team just may be way too bad for him to make a difference.

T.O. is Pissed at Maureen Flavin!

Buffalo Bills receiver Terrell Owens posted on twitter that due to word getting that he was renting a house in Buffalo, he will not be renting that house.

Owens posted via Twitter Wednesday afternoon,
"terrellowens81W/THE RELEASE OF MY POTENTIAL RENTAL @ 34 WOODTHRUSH TR, I WILL NOT B RENTING DUE 2 THE UNPROFESSIONALISM OF MAUREEN FLAVIN!!"

Well, T.O. is pissed again, what the hell else is new? Flavin is a relocation specialist, who Owens hired to handle the matter. My guess is that Owens will be finding a new real estate agent when he picks out his new home.

Stallworth is Going To Jail

Cleveland Browns receiver Donte Stallworth received a 30 day jail sentence after agreeing to a plea deal for an incident that killed 59-year-old Mario Reyes. Stallworth struck Reyes with his car while driving drunk in Florida. The incident happened March 14.

In addition to the jail sentence, which began Tuesday, Stallworth must serve two years of house arrest and spend eight years on probation. He had faced a 15 year jail sentence with his DUI manslaughter conviction.

With the plea agreement, Stallworth will be able to resume his football career while under house arrest, but there is no telling what kind of punishment he will receive from the league and it will be interesting to see if he is released by the Browns.
This is another story about what money can do for you. If it had been just the average Joe, a full 15 year sentence would have to be served. A law is a law no matter how much money you have. I appreciate the fact that Stallworth is taking full responsibility for this, but he barely got a slap on the wrist.

Sammy Sosa Tested Positive For Steroids

As reported by ESPN, Sammy Sosa tested positive for steroids during the 2003 season. During that season, there was no penalty for a positive test.

Sosa as shown in the pictures above obviously grew rather muscular from his rookie season with the Chicago White Sox in 1989 until later in his career when he played for the Baltimore Orioles in 2005. Sosa last played in the Major Leagues in 2007 for the Texas Rangers.

Sosa has 609 career homeruns.

Yea, who didn't know he was on steroids? It seemed pretty obvious when he became a mediocre hitter with speed early on in his career into a power hitter with no speed for the remainder of his career.

Bonnaroo 2009 Was Awesome!

The 2009 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival was excellent in so many ways. The weather was great - minus the horrendous storms Thursday night. The bands were awesome and everything just seemed to work out great. Knox Animal and friends had a hell of a time and we cannot wait until we hit the farm next year.
The pic was taken Friday morning while waiting to enter the main entrance. The rain from the night before was gone, but the clouds still looked mean as hell.

Favre Likes All The Attention

Brett Favre, the NFL quarterback that is becoming as well known for his un-retiring every season as he is for his hall of fame career, has all but said he is returning to the NFL - yet again.

The Minnesota Vikings have spoken to Favre on multiple occasions and all indications suggest that Favre will be wearing purple on opening day this season. The only question that Knox Animal asks is - who really gives a shit? Favre is past his prime and if anybody thinks that he can lead a team through the playoffs - they are as naive as Favre himself.

Jimmy Buffett To Appear at Bonnaroo?

Jimmy Buffett is scheduled to join Ilo and the Coral Reefer Allstars for their Bonnaroo set Saturday, June 13 at 12:30 p.m. on the Which Stage. Also joining the performance will be Mac McAnally.

All this was confirmed Sunday via Twitter as Nadirah Shakoor, a member of the Coral Reefer Allstars, posted, "Sat. May 13th I’m doing Bonnaroo with Jimmy Buffett and Mac McAnally! I am honored and excited!"

We will forgive Shakoor for posting May instead of June because she was obviously excited and forgot what month she was in. But anyway, this should make for an interesting addition to the festival and a good start to Saturday if you want to miss the Steeldrivers. This puts me in a hell of situation.

Ben Sollee Likes Riding Bikes

There will be many artists playing at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, TN this upcoming weekend, however Ben Sollee's journey to the festival might be different than anybody else's.

Sollee, a Kentucky native, is strapping his cello on his back and riding his bicycle from Lexington, KY to Manchester. He has already made two of his four scheduled performance stops on the way. He has already performed Sunday 6/7 in Somerset, KY at Carnegie Arts Center and Monday 6/8 in Albany, KY at Clinton County Library. He has two more stops before arriving in Manchester on Thursday. Sollee will be playing today, 6/9, in Cookeville, TN at the Backdoor Playhouse and Wednesday, 6/10, in McMinnville, TN at Capalano's.

This is just another thing to make Sollee a fan favorite when he takes the stage at Bonnaroo on Saturday at 5:00. Sollee earlier wrote a song titled, "Dear Kanye", explaining why the self-claimed genius is a disgrace to music, which any Bonnaroo fan will surely appreciate after the Kanye West debacle of a year ago.

Big Papi Can't Hit, anymore...

Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz has been in a season long slump. The once feared slugger is now feared by nobody as Papi is only batting .197 with two homeruns - which is hardly impressive.

Ortiz has had his eyes checked because it surely seems that he is not seeing the ball, but could it just be the fact that he is getting old? When you get old, your bat speed slows - it's science. The 33-year old's power surge appears to have ended - at least for the time being.

It is awfully interesting that when Ortiz joined the Red Sox in 2003 after six mediocre years in Minnesota, Big Papi all of sudden became a power hitter. In his six season with the Twins, Ortiz only hit 58 homeruns with his high being 20 in 2002 - his final season in Minnesota. Since then Ortiz has hit 233 homeruns.

Now that the MLB has recently cracked down on steroid offenders, including Red Sox teammate Manny Ramirez, it begs to question the timing of this slump.

Former Vol Creer to Transfer to La. Tech

Former UT running back Lennon Creer reportedly will transfer to Louisiana Tech when summer classes start next week.

Creer was the Vols' second leading rusher in 2008 with 388 yards while averaging 5.3 yards per rush. He scored four touchdowns. Creer left UT shortly after Lane Kiffin took over as the Vols head coach.

He will have two years of eligibility remaining after sitting out this upcoming season.

This seems like a good move for Creer to get a fresh start. He has talent, but his dedication opens a whole new bag of worms.

Big Unit Notches Win Number 300

San Francisco Giants pitcher Randy Johnson earned the 300th win of his career this afternoon to become only the 24 pitcher to accomplish the feat.
The 45-year old threw six innings of two-hit ball to lead the Giants to a 5-1 win over the Washington Nationals. It came a day after his scheduled start against the Nationals Wednesday night was rained out.

Cy Young is the all-time wins leader with 511 wins - a number that will never be passed. The next active pitcher closest to Johnson on the 300 win watch is 46 year-old Jamie Moyer with 250 wins.

Many will remember the dominant 6-foot-10 lefty for his days with the Seattle Mariners. Some may remember him for his All-Star game appearances - the 1993 game in particular when he intentionally threw behind John Kruk because he was admittedly already scared of the Big Unit. A couple will remember when he hit and destroyed a pigeon with one of his pitches. A few will even remember Johnson for his incredibly awesome mullet. However, everybody will remember Johnson for being a hell of a pitcher and one of the best of all time.

Johnson's accomplishments
  • Pitched a no-hitter for Seattle on 6/2/1990 against Detroit
  • 10-time All-Star (1990, 1993-1995, 1997, 1999, 2000-2002, 2004)
  • Led the league in ERA four times (1995, 1999, 2001, 2002)
  • Led the league in strikeouts nine times (1992-1995, 1999, 2000-2002, 2004)
  • World Series co-MVP (Curt Schilling, 2001)
  • 5 time Cy Young Award winner (1995, 1999-2002)
  • Pitched a perfect game against the Atlanta Braves on May 18, 2004 to become the oldest pitcher to throw a perfect game.
  • 24th member of the 300 Win Club

Jake Heaps Is Headed To BYU

Highly sought after quarterback prospect Jake Heaps reportedly will commit to BYU today. The Vols were in the running for Heaps, but the Washington native is expected to officially announce this afternoon that he is headed to the Cougars.

Heaps is rated as the No. 1 quarterback prospect in the 2010 class. According to the release, Heaps had offers from 26 programs as of June 1. He recently narrowed his list of favorites to BYU, Washington, LSU, California and Tennessee.

BYU and Washington have been considered the front-runners for the past few weeks.
The Vols will need to look elsewhere for there answer at quarterback as another possibility has fallen off the board. Andrew Hendrix from Moeller High in Cincinnati and Jesse Scroggins from Lakeland (Calif.) High remain prime targets for the Vols QB position in the 2010 class.

Vols Steal One From Gators

Yesterday, the University of Tennessee snagged another player from the Florida Gators football team. Junior college defensive tackle John Brown, a Florida signee out of high school, has jumped ship to join the Vols.

Brown a five-star signee out of Lakeland High School in Florida was recruited by current Vols defensive line coach Ed Orgeron when he was the head coach at Ole Miss. The 6-foot-2, 300-pounder is enrolled at Northeast Mississippi Community College after leaving Florida during the spring semester reportedly because of academic reasons.

This could be a great addition for the Vols and will add depth to a very thin defensive line as he is the fifth defensive line prospect for the 2010 class.

I'm Gonna Eat This Sunday

I finally found somebody to make the Waffle and Maple Sausage Casserole recipe that I found online nearly a month ago.

Maple Sausage And Waffle Breakfast Casserole (Cook's Illustrated)

Note: After their typical exhaustive research, Cook's determined that Eggo Homestyle waffles worked best. So, I used them. Don't use thick Belgium style waffles, which will make the casserole taste dry.

Ingredients
6-8 frozen Eggo homestyle Waffles
1 1/4 cup milk
1/4 tsp. salt
12 ounces Maple Sausage (pork or turkey)
6 eggs
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese.

Instructions
Preheat oven to 375-degees and toast waffles on a baking sheet on both sides for about 10 minutes. Brown sausage until no longer pink and drain on paper towels. Coat an 8 X 8 inch square baking dish with non-stick spray or butter. Arrange 4 waffles in the bottom and sprinkle with half the sausage and half the cheese. Repeat layer, with remaining waffles, sausage and cheese. Wisk eggs and milk in a bowl with the syrup, salt, and pepper. Pour egg mixture over the waffles layers. Cover with plastic wrap and set a weight on top. (I used another square pan set on top of the plastic wrap, with canned food set in the empty pan.) Refrigerate over night or for at least 1 hour. Preheat oven to 325-degrees, uncover casserole and bake 45 to 50 minutes until edges are puffy. Cool 5 minutes and serve. Serves 4-6.

I'm going to eat it Sunday! Yes, I am very pumped about it.

John Henderson Is A Wimp

Jacksonville Jaguars defensive tackle John Henderson pulled himself out of drills Monday, prompting head coach Jack Del Rio to question Henderson's toughness.

The former UT Vol has a bruised shoulder, but Del Rio felt as if the two-time pro-bowler should have fought through the injury and participated in the drills.

“Back when I played, and even prior to that, I don’t think anybody would have had to miss a snap for it,” Del Rio said. “I think it’s a minor bruise of sorts. I would think Vince Lombardi is probably rolling over right now. It’s not something that should keep anybody out of work. But John feels like he can’t go, so we’ll let him wait until he can.”

The 6-foot-7, 335 pound Henderson probably doesn't need to prove his toughness to anybody. However, the seven year veteran is coming off his worst pro season where he recorded 53 tackles and only two sacks. Del Rio's comments were made to simply motivate Henderson into having a better season in 2009.

Vols' Tyler Smith Might Play In Europe

Tennessee Vols Tyler Smith, who entered his name into the upcoming NBA draft, is considering playing basketball in Europe until he can make the NBA.

Smith, who has one year of eligibility left, says he woudn't pass up an NBA salary to support his family to return to Vols for his senior season. Smith is projected by many as a second round draft pick if he gets drafted, which doesn't guarantee him a salary. It wasn't until recently that Smith began contemplating playing in Europe if the money was right.

Smith told The Knoxville News Sentinel he doesn't want to pass up a salary that could support his family, but he also doesn't want to leave his young son Amare behind in the U.S.

It's a tough decision for Tyler to make in a relatively short period of time. Smith has until June 15 to withdraw his name from the draft and keep his college eligibility. If Smith has a good senior season, he could ensure that he will be drafted. He could even be a first round pick in the 2010 draft if he proves that he can be a legitimate scorer.

Kimbo Slice Signs TUF Deal

The street fighting sensation known as Kimbo Slice has signed a deal to be one of the contestants on The Ultimate Fighter.

Slice gained incredible publicity for his now famous Youtube street fights and then cashed in with the EliteXC and earned a spot as the main event on the first prime time televised MMA event on CBS last year.

Slice is 3-1 in his MMA career. UFC President Dana White has criticized Slice in the past saying. "He’d get murdered if he fought in the UFC."

Well, the time has come for Slice to earn his shot in the UFC. Nonetheless, this should make for a hell of an upcoming season on TUF. The season will begin taping tomorrow and is scheduled to run on Spike in September.

This could make or break Kimbo's career in the sport of MMA. If he is serious about being a contender in this sport, this was a smart move for him because there isn't any messing around in the UFC.

Crompton Shrugs Off Death Threats

University of Tennessee quarterback Jonathon Crompton reported this weekend that he received death threats during last season. The senior quarterback obviously wasn't affected by the threats because he never improved as the UT QB after the threats.

Florida Gators Are Thugs

Florida Gators starting cornerback Janoris Jenkins was arrested over the weekend and charged with fighting and resisting arrest.

According to ESPN Joe Schad's story, the cornerback was tased after he punched somebody in the head after being told not to do so.

First of all why the hell would you have to tell somebody not to punch somebody in the head at a bar? And if somebody told you not to punch somebody in the head, why would you punch somebody in the head? What an idiot.
