Brandon Lloyd Calls Out Former Teams
Denver Pro Bowl receiver Brandon Lloyd had a breakout year this season as the Broncos leading receiver. After having played for San Francisco, Washington and Chicago, the eight year pro actually had a productive season. He was known as a underachiever and his work ethic was questionable at best, but all that seems to be behind him as he notched 72 receptions, 1,375 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. When asked about what he would like to say to his former teams, Lloyd maturely answered the following:
He had one good season out of eight. Last time I checked, that was a pretty shitty ratio. So because he finally earns his paycheck for one season, he had to sound off and say "I told you so"? Come on dude, you are being paid millions to do that every season. So next time you want to be an asshole, keep it to yourself.
"No, I want to say, ‘(Bleep) you.’ And I mean that in the most professional way.”It's good to know that he kept it professional, but how could he possible question the way he played the previous seven seasons? He played like a bum and he was making millions. How does he not feel like he let his former teams down? I'm glad Lloyd had a good season and I always knew he was talented, but why did he have to be an asshole about it?

Fast Five Trailer
I'm a little late on this, but the new Fast and the Furious movie, Fast Five, looks pretty awesome. Being a fan of the first four, it only seems fitting that I will be looking forward to the fifth installment, which is scheduled to be in theaters Summer 2011.

Wilcox Could Bolt For Texas
Rumor has it that Vols defensive coordinator Justin Wilcox could be headed to Texas to fulfill the vacant defensive coordinator position. Frankly, I don’t care.
It’s not like Wilcox did anything special in his one season in Knoxville. His schemes were much too advanced, and I also don’t like them. He institutes too many rotations, which results in too many players constantly sprinting off the field.
The Vols struggles this season came late in the games, and I don’t think it is unreasonable to believe that this is because of the defensive rotations. The players looked winded, and this is the reason why.
If Wilcox does decide to pull a Lane Kiffin and bolt after one year, it wouldn't bother me one bit. Yes, the Vols defense will have to learn yet another defensive scheme next year, but it might just be a better one.

Cliff Lee Returns To The Philadelphia Phillies
Cliff Lee is heading back to Philadelphia to join what looks like the greatest starting pitching rotation in MLB history. Lee and the Phillies reached a $120 million, five-year deal on Wednesday that brings the star pitcher back to Philadelphia. Lee turned down more lucrative offers from the New York Yankees and Texas Rangers to return to the team that traded him away a year ago after reaching the 2009 World Series.
"It feels great to land back here in Philadelphia," Lee said at a news conference at Citizens Bank Park. "I never wanted to leave this place in the first place."Now that he is back, he joins Roy Halladay, Roy Oswalt and Cole Hamels in what looks to the greatest starting pitching rotation ever. What do you guys think?

Redskins Disappoint
After watching the Redskins lose yet another game this season, one thing is clear - they are no better than they were last year or the year before.
When will the mediocrity end? Washington brought in Mike Shanahan to get the ship headed in the right direction, but the ship is spinning around in circles without any progress. Really, Jim Zorn was a horrible coach for the Skins, but Shanahan hasn't been any better. Donovan McNabb has been brought in and has played okay, but not great. However, is it really his fault for his very average play, or is it the offensive coordinator, Kyle Shanahan's fault? That is very debatable.
The finger pointing could continue until everybody in the Redskins organization has been pointed to at least once, but that isn't going to solve anything. The fact of the matter is that the Redskins are sitting at 5-8 and staring another losing season in the face. It's not my job to figure out what the Redskins problems are, but it is my job to point them out. Right now there are too many to mention, but one thing for certain is that Redskins fans have had enough, and they deserve better.

Urban Meyer Quits, Again
University of Florida head coach Urban Meyer is calling it quits after winning two National Championships and leading the Gators to a 64-15 record. His last game as the Gators coach will be against Penn State on January 1 in the Outback Bowl.
Meyer did something similar last year, citing health as the reason. We all thought it was because of a broken heart when Tim Tebow moved on to the NFL, but apparently his story did indeed check out. This time, Meyer said the demands of a college football coaching job were too much for him at this point in his life. He wants to spend more time with his family, which is understandable.
The funny thing about this whole situation is that the Florida nation thought they had everything figured out. They had their coach and they were well on their way to a dynasty. However, a dreadful season that produced a 7-5 record and now Meyer leaving them, sets up an interesting off-season in Gainesville.

Shanahan Isn't The Only Redskin Fed Up With Haynesworth
Fifteen year NFL veteran Phillip Daniels isn't too fond of Albert Haynesworth. The teammates are supposed to be lined up on the same defensive line, but Haynesworth found himself inactive for last Sunday's game. According to an ESPN report, Daniels had this to say about the NFL's highest paid defensive player:
"I've been through 15 seasons and I ain't won [anything]. So what I'm saying is if I can come out here and do this, don't tell me that you can't do it," Daniels said Monday. "I want every guy on this team to do well. I want you to realize that if you ain't all in, you don't need to be here.
Daniels said the distractions involving Haynesworth are "not healthy" for the team and that it "drags you down." He called Haynesworth a "great person" who "tries for the most part to fit in," but Daniels also cited a slogan from college -- "Big team, little me" -- and said that's the part Haynesworth doesn't get. "That's what I go out there and play for every day -- my teammates," Daniels said. "And I think that's the part of the game that really skipped by him."I don't see any issues with what Daniels said. He speaks the truth. Haynesworth was essentially deactivated because he was half-assing it in practice, he was late to a meeting, and was limited in practice Friday because of an "illness". There are guys out there putting everything on the line day in and day out and they aren't even paid close to what this guy is being paid. Did he deserve his salary because of his past success, maybe. But, he should still feel like he has to go out there every day and earn it. I don't blame Daniels one bit for speaking up. The Redskins are playing like shit right now, and arguably their best defensive player doesn't even care enough about his teammates to get out there and play.

Donald Trump Likes Mike Leach
For a man that has lacked support, Mike Leach is receiving an endorsement from Donald Trump. According to ESPN reports, Trump sent a letter to the University of Miami, recommending Leach for the Hurricanes head coaching vacancy.
It makes sense that Trump would support Leach. They are both very similar, in that they are both insane. However, their odd and outrageous behavior is what has made each of them successful. It also landed Leach without a coaching job.
I must say that when the University of Tennessee was looking for a head coach, I was a big proponent of bringing the pirate loving Leach to Knoxville. It may or may not have been a good choice for the Vols, but neither was Lane Kiffin. As for Leach in Miami, I don't know. He is a decent coach, but his wacky style and demeanor is extremely risky to take a chance on. I don't know, but something about Leach coaching in Miami makes me laugh - so I support it as well.
