Janzen Jackson Dismissed From Vols Football Team

Tennessee Vols safety Janzen Jackson has been dismissed from the Vols football team in what has been an up and down career for the junior.

The reason is not immediately known, but an article on GoVolsXtra cited Tennessee head coach derek Dooley's zero-tolerance policy he has in place for players. Dooley is expected to address the media on the situation after the Vols mock game tonight at Neyland Stadium.

In what was going to be an inexperienced defense to start with, it takes a huge blow with the loss of Jackson. Jackson was regarded as the best player on the defense and could be considered the anchor of the secondary. He missed time in the spring and first session of the summer by unenrolling from school for personal matters. I'm not much for speculating, but it seems like some of the personal matters are still troubling the junior safety.

With that being said, Jackson is not a current member of the Vols football team, so the door is open for somebody else to step up.
