Up until this past week, Grossman was playing okay enough to win games as the Redskins starter. The offense was productive enough to start the season with a 3-1 record. After a poor performance Sunday, the Redskins lost their second game of the season and it was apparently enough for him to also lose his starting job.
I can't say I understand why Shanahan would give up on Grossman so fast given that Beck hasn't done anything special in his NFL career. Sure there is a chance Beck could surprise some people, but is that really a risk you want to take right now when the Redskins are sitting near the top of the NFC East?
Grossman's overall numbers this season are less than spectacular, throwing for 1,132 yards and completing only 55.8% of his passes. His nine interceptions to only six touchdowns may be what was the final undoing for Grossman. The big question is will Beck be any better leading the burgundy and gold?
