Red Sox Owner John Henry Opposed Carl Crawford Signing

It sure is easy to say now, but reports are saying that Boston Red Sox owner personally opposed the Carl Crawford signing last offseason. Crawford was arguably the biggest free agent last winter and when the Red Sox nabbed him for seven years, $142 million, many thought he was missing piece for Boston.

After a dreadful 2011 season that saw Crawford hit .255, 11 homeruns, 56 RBI and only steal 18 bases, it is easy to say that signing him was a mistake.

It just seems like poor timing to bring more negativity to the team. The Red Sox fired manager Terry Francona, general manager Theo Epstein is apparently on his way out and dumbass slugger David Ortiz is saying he wouldn't mind being a Yankee and now this. When will it end for the Red Sox, or will the walls just keep crumbling around a franchise that has shown very much promise in the past couple years?
