Victor Cruz Emerging As A Star For Giants

With the departure of Steve Smith to the Eagles, Eli Manning and the New York Giants were is desperate need for somebody to stand out in the receiving game. Sure, they had Hakeem Nicks and Mario Manningham, but it was vital to find a third option. Enter Victor Cruz, a second year player that was undrafted out of UMASS that before this season had zero catches in his three career games.

What a difference a year makes. Through five games this season, Cruz is second on the team in receiving (behind Nicks) with 19 receptions for 386 yards and three touchdowns. His 20.3 yards per catch average lead the team. Not bad for a guy that seemingly came out of nowhere.
