Will This Be Cooley's Last Year In Washington?

With his role diminishing as of late, Chris Cooley's latest injury could spell his end in Washington. In Sunday's game against the Eagles, Redskins quarterback Rex Grossman through a pass that led Cooley into traffic and consequently shattered his left index finger. Cooley will undergo surgery and is expected to miss six weeks.

As the injuries keep piling up for Cooley, fourth year pro Fred Davis is getting more and more playing time. Davis has had a good season for the Redskins so far with 22 receptions for 343 yards and a touchdown. With more playing time, he is surely going get better and play a bigger role in the Redskins offense. If Davis continues to impress, I don't see his playing time diminishing when Cooley returns - begging the question of do they need Cooley?
