Missouri Officially Joins SEC

After weeks of speculation about the Missouri Tigers leaving the Big 12 to join the Southeastern Conference, it is finally official. The Tigers will be slated to join the SEC East as the 14th member of the SEC.

The move will officially take place in the summer of 2012, just in time for the 2012 football season. It will be interesting to see how the Tigers will fare in the SEC. There is no doubt that the SEC is a deep football conference from top to bottom and it will be a tough task for any team that is new. There is no doubt that the opportunity to play top conference opponents will help recruiting future players. The additions of Texas A&M (to the SEC West) and Missouri only add to the excitement of SEC football.
