Red Sox Hire Bobby Valentine

The Boston Red Sox finally put an end to the who is going to be their next manager question by hiring Bobby Valentine as their next manager. Valentine has been working as a Major League Baseball analyst for ESPN and has managerial experience both in the MLB and in Japan.

The hiring of Valentine is a good fit for the Red Sox organization. Even though he might be most famous for the incident where he was ejected when he was the manager of the Mets and later returned to the dugout in disguise, he is a manager with experience in a big market that has won.

Valentine is taking over a underachieving team with a lot of talent to work with. The Red Sox famously collapsed in September last season, losing 20 games in that month alone. With Valentine's leadership, the Red Sox can hope that a collapse like that never happens again.
