The Chris Paul Deals Are Insane

Seriously? Since when did Chris Paul become the savior? Yes, he is a good player in the NBA, but is he really worth all the trouble that has come out of the potential deals that have been offered and turned down by the league?

First, the Paul to the Los Angeles Lakers deal fell through because the league rejected it. Then Lakers star Lamar Odom, who was a part of the rejected deal, was so pissed off that he was included in the deal, requested a trade. Odom's wish was granted and he was dealt to the Dallas Mavericks, tearing the Lakers core apart.

Now, Paul has been linked to a possible trade to the other Los Angeles team, the Clippers. However, the New Orleans Hornets request in exchange for Paul is ridiculous. In exchange for the guard, the Hornets want Eric Gordon, Eric Bledsoe, Al-Farouq Aminu, Chris Kaman and a 2012 first round draft pick that would most likely come from a third team involved. This request is simply not acceptable.

I get it, Paul can be a great addition to any team. However, he is not worth trading an entire team worth of good players in order to pair with another good player, in this case - Blake Griffin. The Hornets need to trade Paul because this has dragged on much too long. Paul is unhappy and the Hornets are wasting a lot of time negotiating unreasonable requests. It's time to get a deal done because this whole situation has become obnoxious.
