Roethlisberger Has Guts
Roethlisberger looked hurt when returning to the field in the second half, but played through the obvious pain and finished the game throwing for 280 yards on 16-of-21 passing and two touchdowns. He did throw one interception, but we will excuse that. The important thing was that Roethlisberger wanted to play, and felt like he still could despite the pain.
Roethlisberger is easily one of the most criticized quarterbacks in the game today. His off the field issues prompt valid questions about his morals, but when Roethlisberger is on the field of play he is a proven leader. I'm not excusing Roethlisberger for his past off the field issues, I'm just complimenting him on his football ability and loyalty. When it comes down to Sunday (or in this case Thursday), the Steelers are lucky to have a guy like Roethlisberger on their side.
