Megatron Cashes In

There are NFL salaries and then there are so enormous NFL salaries. Detroit Lions receiver Calvin Johnson just received the largest salary in NFL history by signing a seven year, $132 million extension to keep him in Detroit through 2019.

The deal is just under $19 million per season with a guaranteed $60 million, surpassing the $50 million Arizona receiver Larry Fitzgerald received.

The Lions knew what they had to do and they didn't mess around. This move not only makes the Lions fans happy, but it makes Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford happy. By locking Johnson up long term, the Lions will have one of the best passing combos in the league for years to come.
