How The Orioles Fared in the 2012 MLB All Star Game

For Baltimore Orioles fans, it was great to see more than one All-Star this year. Adam Jones, Matt Wieters and Jim Johnson were each selected to represent the Orioles this year in Kansas City. Despite the fact none of the three were starters, all three did get in the game. Most of the highlights for the three Orioles came on defense as Jones saw a few fly balls in center field. Wieters came into the game to catch Jim Johnson's scoreless eighth inning that included a strikeout.

Witers was 0-for-2 and Jones was 0-for-1, but the game simply was more than stats. The fact that the Orioles had three players selected to the All Star game this year means that the team is on the right track. Only winning teams have more than one player selected normally. The Orioles find themselves in second place in the American League East with a 45-40 record, trailing only the New York Yankees who own a 52-33 record at the midway point.

The future is bright for these three stars and the entire Orioles team. The second half of the baseball season is going to be interesting to watch, especially if the Orioles are in the playoff hunt at the end of the year.

  1. Finally feels good to have my home team, who's been slumping over the past couple of years. I've been a "LOYAL-FAN."NOT JUST BECAUSE THEY'RE WINNIJG EITHER, LIKE SOME PEOPLE. ARE DOING

    1. I agree. I have been an Orioles fan my entire life. I couldn't be more pleased with the team they have assembled and how they are playing this year.
