'Skins Cut Chris Cooley

It was one of those things that you knew was going to happen, but you wished it didn't. The Washington Redskins cut tight end Chris Cooley.

Cooley has missed a lot of time the last two seasons, and eventually lost his starting job to Fred Davis. For Cooley, the desire to be an NFL starter is still there, prompting the Redskins to grant Cooley his release in an effort for the nine-year NFL veteran to earn a starting spot with another team.

Cooley will always be one of my favorite Redskins. He was an underdog from the beginning and he became one of the team's leaders. Cooley will be missed in the community as much as he will be missed in burgundy and gold.

Thanks for the memories Chris. You will always be a Redskin no matter what team you finish your career with.
