The Latest On Derek Dooley

For the past couple of weeks there has been a lot of speculation into the future of the Tennessee football program and specifically the job status of head coach Derek Dooley. At this point there is no indication the Dooley will be fired any time in the immediate future. The team continues to prepare for Troy this weekend just like it would other week. As far as we can see, it's business as usual for the Vols and Dooley.

There have been rumblings of a coaching change coming soon, but right now those are just rumors. Whether they pan out or not remains to be seen. Most notably Jon Gruden's name has been brought up, but we have been down this road before. All I can say is that right now, there isn't any news to report.

We will be paying attention to the situation, so stay tuned for updates...

  2. None of this helps the team or the coaching staff, Lets support the Vols and Coaches. It takes time to rebuild you see were everyone was so excited about Kiffen, where did he leave us. I SUPPORT DOOLEY. If he stays next year, we will be a great year with the team we havenow.

    1. I totally agree with Anonymous! This kind of talk puts unnecessary pressure and stress on an already stressed team and coaching staff! LOOK WHAT KIFFIN LEFT US WITH! I admire the young Dooley for his willingness to take this on - and I am sure DADDY DOOLEY probably advised him to walk away. He is a good coach - young, but hungry, learning, growning, and if we will stick with him, I firmly believe he will make us winners again!
