MarQuez North confirmed yesterday on Twitter that he has committed to play for the University of Tennessee. This is great news for the Vols, as North is the No. 2 ranked wide receiver, and No. 37 overall player according to Rivals.com.
At 6-foot-4, 212 pounds, North has the size, speed and skill set that sets him up to be an immediate threat in the SEC. With the departure of Justin Hunter and Cordarrelle Patterson, the Vols were in desperate need of a play maker at the receiver position.
The addition of North headlines a receiving class with four stars Ryan Jenkins and Paul Harris. The Vols also got a commitment from three-star Josh Smith.
It's going to be interesting to see how the Vols class finishes in the coming week. Head coach Butch Jones and his staff have been working relentlessly to secure a top class and the work is paying off. The commitment of North is proof of that.
