report, the Green Bay Packers are set to release defensive back Charles Woodson. Woodson, 36, was moved from cornerback to safety last season.
Money is the main issue for the decision. Woodson was set to make $9 million in 2013. The former Heisman trophy winner is an eight time pro-bowler and NFL defensive player of the year in 2009. He has 55 interceptions in 206 career NFL games.
If Woodson is willing to sign for a lot less money, he could be a very valuable addition to another NFL team, especially since he has safety experience now. While he isn't the player he once was, I still believe he has a couple years left in him to make an impact on the field. I fully expect him to play in 2013.
