Reports out of Washington are encouraging for Redskins star Robert Griffin III. A few months removed from major knee surgery, the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Griffin III is ahead of schedule according to reports.
Even though Griffin III has his eyes set on a return by Week 1, the quarterback says he will only play if he is healthy. This is a wise move considering the criticism over the way the Redskins handled RGIII and his injury last season.
Among the reports, RGIII's surgeon, Dr. James Andrews said to ESPN, "RG III is one of those superhumans. First patient I ever had like that was Bo Jackson. And recently I, of course, had Adrian Peterson, who is also superhuman. They have an unbelievable ability to recover, whereas a normal human being may not be able to recover."
Griffin III may have a long way to go still in his recovery, but this is an encouraging sign for the second year pro.
