Griffin III Sets Record For Jersey Sales

In a recent report it was revealed that Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III was top selling jersey from April 1, 2012 to March 1, 2013 according to NFLShop.com. The report also stated that the number is the most ever in a single year.

With the anticipation and the play during his first season in the NFL, RGIII was a marketing dream for sponsors. His play backed up the hype and he gave Redskins fans the offensive star they had been missing in recent years. Griffin III was and is simply a star in the eyes of many people.

When I went to the Vikings at Redskins game at FedEx field this past season, it was amazing how many people had RGIII jerseys. Men, women, children, all decked out in burgundy, gold and number 10. The excitement over the rookie quarterback was electric, and rightfully so. RGIII brings excitement wherever he is.

My mother just celebrated her birthday yesterday and believe it or not, I presented her with her very own RGIII jersey. As Griffin III recovers from his major knee surgery, the fan base wishing him well is great. When RGIII steps on the field in 2013, it will be obvious why he sold the most jerseys during his rookie season.
