BREAKING: Masahiro Tanaka Diagnosed With Partially Torn Ulnar Collateral Ligament
New York Yankees pitcher Masahiro Tanaka has been diagnosed with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament. The rookie is in the first year of his 7-year, $155 million deal.
Tanaka has reportedly seen three doctors for the injury and none of them have recommended surgery at this point. It is thought that Tanaka can return to action in six weeks after having a platelet-rich plasma injection and undergoing rehab.
The All-Star nominated Tanaka is 12-4 with a 2.51 ERA this season.
