NFL Tidbits

News and notes from the NFL.

  • The New Orleans Saints re-signed tight end Jimmy Graham to a four year deal worth $40 million. $21 million of that is guaranteed. This contract makes Graham the league's highest paid tight end.
  • The Dallas Cowboys released backup quarterback Kyle Orton.
  • San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis is not expected to report to training camp as a holdout seems imminent. Davis has been unhappy with his contract for a while now and news of Graham re-signing with the Saints for a league high $10 million a year can't be sitting well with Davis even if Graham is better. Davis can be fined $30k each day he misses camp, so we will see how many checks he is willing to write.
  • Free-agent receiver Titus Young was arrested on a felony battery charge and it looks like his career is finished in the NFL. Remember this is the guy that was arrested four times in May 2013, including three times in one week as a member of the Detroit Lions.
